HPE-Teamwork

Teamwork is a term to describe a group of people working together to achieve a goal.

Teamwork consists of three main mechanisms.

Communication is sharing information with your team. Communicating is good because if one of your teammates is going to be hit with a dodgeball you can quickly warn them. An example of this is talking about strategy.

Cooperation is protecting each other. For example in dodgeball someone is throwing lots of balls to one person in their team so they can attack the opponent's team.

Collaboration is showing different actions to your group so they can work together. In dodgeball collaboration is working together to defeat the different teams. For example in dodgeball a teammate will wave hands to another teammate to warn them of an opponent.

To be successful as a team all three mechanisms need to implemented throughout the activity.

I competed the speed demon challenge on my subtraction up to 20 My time was 5 minutes and 51 seconds. My score was 96 out of 100. Next time I will try a harder level.

 I read 15 minutes of Captain Underpants the attack of the talking toilets. Made by Dav Plikey.

This book is about George and harold accidently making toilet monsters and Captain Underpants saving George and harold from them.

I enjoy reading this book because its funny and I cant wait to read more.

Making Connections-The Highway Rat

Connections are ideas that are the same linked with reader's knowledge. There are three different types of connections there are text to self, text to text and text to world.

Text to self is comparing what happened in the text with something that happened in the book with something that happened to you. For example in The Highway Rat the duck buys two cupcakes. The duck likes eating cupcakes. My Connection is when I went to the shop I bought  two lollie bags and ate both of them. The connection is that me and the duck both like sweets.

Text to text is comparing the text with a different text. For example the duck tricked the rat by telling him about her made up sister which has lots of junk food to avoid being eaten. The duck thought about what the rat would like to eat instead of her. My connection is in the Gruffalo the mouse tricks different animals by telling them about a terrible creature to avoid being eaten.The connection is that the duck and the mouse both trick people to avoid being eaten.

Text to world is comparing what happened in the text with something that happened in the world. For example The Duck gave the stolen food to the starving travellers. In the text we inferred that the duck thought about the starving travelers instead of herself. My Connection is people around the world donate starving people food. The connection is that the duck and people around the world give starving people food.

Making connections can help readers understand about the text, world and eachother.

Duffy theater

Marc Duffy is a considerable duffy role model because he shares parts of his life with different people without being scared.

When Marc was young he stole cars and was sent to prison but there was a good side to this because that's where he got his diploma in business and school certificate. That was also where he learnt how to read thanks to his teacher.

After Marc was a builder he owned his own business. Marc was also a fight for life boxing lightweight champion. Marc used to work for Bunnings fitting out their stores but now he manages the largest store in New Zealand which is in hamilton. Marc also went back to university just to become a counselor.

Marc Duffy is a good duffy role model because he shows people not to be scared.

 

Multiplication

Multiplication is a fast way of adding up the same numbers. The three, four and six times tables are an example of multiplication.

The three times tables are multiplying three by a number of groups.

The four times tables are multiplying four by a number of groups.

The six times tables are multiplying six by a number of groups.

Time tables are a basic way to remember basic multiplication equations like 1x3 and 3x2. The next times table to learn are seven, eights and nines.

Character trait

Character traits use adjectives to describe a character in a text or movie, for example the duck from The Highway Rat.

One of the adjectives used to describe the duck was intelligent. The reason why the duck  is intelligent because she tricked the rat into the cave.

Another one of the adjectives used to describe the duck was caring. The reason why the duck is caring because she gave the stolen food to the starving villagers.

Another one of the adjectives used to describe the duck was hero. The reason why the duck is a hero because she got rid of the highway rat.

Character traits can help the people reading understand the characters personality.
