Gruffalo art

For art, we drew the cover of the Gruffalo story as a class. While we were doing it we learnt new skills with pastel during the few weeks we did this.  

First my group was given an A2 piece of paper to colour in. We did this art piece using different coloured pastels and different art techniques.

 

Then we talked as a group by blending the important parts of the drawing. Blending can make colours darker or lighter. Blending can also create a new colour.

 

After that we began to colour in our parts of the cover we started collaborating with other groups about the blending, colours and worked together to make sure the art piece matched up to fit correctly when finished.

Inquiry Template

For inquiry my group and I made a fire safety plan for our risk and hazards. The hazard for the fire is the fire, people and the weather and the risk is getting burnt. 

First my group and I talked about the hazards, risks and consequences for our fire. Next we wrote down the hazards, risks and consequences. 

After writing the hazards, risks and the consequences we wrote how we could prevent it and we also wrote down an emergency plan.

Finally after making the plans we made smores. By using our safety plans we roasted our marshmallow safely and made our smores

The smores were delicious and yummy I found it fun roasting my marshmallow. I enjoyed the activity really much.

Governing topics

Governing topics or policies are actions that political parties want to put into action when they get into power. The 2 most important governing topics to me are Education and Media, culture, and recreation.

Media, culture, and recreation mean different Systems spreading important information about news, culture and recreation activities. 

Education is about how the government should be spending money on schools and students being able to learn new and different things.

 

Media, culture, and recreation are important to me because I like going outside and playing with my friends. Education is also important to me because I like learning new things.

Rounding is a type of skill that you can use in maths. It talks about rounding a number to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand and more.  Rounding can also help with your addition and division. 

Rounding also has special numbers known as up and down numbers. The up numbers are 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and the down numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4. The down numbers are called the four floor and the up numbers are called high five.

Addition is adding a number to the same number or a diffrerent number : for example 1 + 7 = 8. How do I know? Put up one and eight fingers and count them together.

Division is another skill that helps you with maths, divsion means to share something equally for example  5 divided by 25 is 5 because 5+5+5+5+5 = 25.

Rounding is a great skill in maths.

Gruffalo Rewrite

 To rewrite a narrative people use different ideas from the original story to create a new story but it still has to have the flow from the original story.

The questions that are used to give the writer an idea of what they are rewriting are : who would the character meet, what would they say and what is Gruffalo's favorite food.

The changes that were made was turning the snake into a crocodile, the crocodile living in a soggy swamp house instead of a log pile house and the gruffalo’s favorite meal is creamy crocodile and not scrambled snake.

Rounding

Rounding is a skill you can use in maths it talks about rounding a number to the nearest ten, you can also use it for addition and division.

Addition is adding a number to the same number or a diffrerent number : for example 5 + 3 = 8. how do I know? put five and three fingers up and count both of them.

Division is another skill that helps you with maths, divsion means to share something equally for example 5 divided by 25 is 5 because 5+5+5+5+5 = 25.
