Summer Learning Journey Day 3-1 (Step it up)

This week for the summer learning journey I did a kowhaiwhai art by using the copy and paste buttons..

There are different types of symmetry like reflectionrotational and translational . Instead of using rotational and translational I used reflectional symmetry because I wannted it to look like 2 waves going into each other. I changed the background into a beach so it can represent summer.

Shelter Presentation

This week me and my group presented our presentation about our emergency shelter.

When we started presenting our presentation the first and second person from my group forgot what to say and me and the rest of my group just stood there waiting for them to finish his line.

When the time was up for our presentation we got a little bit of feedback about our shelter and our presentation. The feedback they gave was to get prepared for the criteria.

Lastly all the 10 groups that were showing thier presentation got decline except for one of them.

I enjoyed presenting our presentation but some of the time was nervous.

Floral Insect art

This week we made insects out of leaves, flowers and more.

First we watched a video about what to do.

After watching the video we went to find our materials but before getting our materials we had to ask Mr Wong and Mr Oglivie.

Lastly we all made our insects.

Here is my hand made insect:

Close Activitys

Comprehension strategies help people understand and learn more about what’s happening in the text or book.

Predicting and questioning can be used before reading, so people can guess what's going to happen in the next part.

Prior knowledge and inferring can be used during reading so people can learn words.

Summarising and making connections can be used after reading so people can see if they understood the whole story, ask questions and make connections.

Knowing how to use the comprehension strategies is important so people can use it during reading.

LI.to test grammar knowledge.

Summer learning journey activity 1

This week I did a Summer learning journey activity about colouring.

First we had to choose an image to colour in. Next we had download a copy of it. Then we take a screen shot of the original art and lastly we Describe why we chose a different colour for one of the objects in the painting.

I first colored the pedestal red just to give it a japanese look. Next I colored in the robe blue and yellow because I wanted it to look normal. Lastly I colored the torch pink so I looks like a popsicle.

I enjoyed this app because I can learn and practise how to colour.

Maori Places

This week we had to match up translations of Auckland Maori place names with the English place names.

We looked at Tamaki Makaurau place names, thats Auckland, checking their meaning and matching the translation to the place.

I enjoyed trying to find out where the right places go and learning what some of the places mean.

Filming

My writing group and I started filming our story using our screenplays, narratives and storyboards.

First we practised learning our lines from the screenplay and then we used the storyboard to tell the place where the actors will be in and how they would act.

After learning our lines and using the storyboard we started filming the four scenes of our story.

I enjoyed filming the story but some of the time it was hard.

LI: to create a shooting schedule.

Commanding Conversations

Comanding conversation is a can do based on writing.

I created two different conversations. The first one I did was about two people having an argument over who was going to win a motorcyle race. The second conversation was about three people going to go fishing

My favourtie part of doing this task was writting a sconversation because it helps me learn different puntuation and how to use it.

LI: To write descriptive conversations
