This week for the summer learning journey I did a kowhaiwhai art by using the copy and paste buttons..
There are different types of symmetry like reflection, rotational and translational . Instead of using rotational and translational I used reflectional symmetry because I wannted it to look like 2 waves going into each other. I changed the background into a beach so it can represent summer.
Morena Paul,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Maddison, I go to Waikowhai Primary and I am also doing the Summer Learning Journey.
I really enjoyed reading your description about your kowhaiwhai art. I liked how you compared it the beach. It reminded me of when I go on holiday with my family to Mahia.
How did you come up with the idea of making it look like waves? Do you enjoy spending time at the beach?
If you get a chance, please check out my blog and my Summer Learning Journey.
Great blogging

Kia Ora Paul,
ReplyDeleteFiona here again from the Summer Learning Journey. What a beautiful kowhaiwhai pattern you have made! I really like the bright blue and orange tones you have used in the background and the way your koru pattern flows like waves- ka pai! Your pattern reminds me of the beach (-: Did you enjoy this activity and learning about Tānerore? I thought it was really interesting.
Keep up all the great mahi!
Fiona
