Comprehension strategies help people understand and learn more about what’s happening in the text or book.

Predicting and questioning can be used before reading, so people can guess what's going to happen in the next part.

Prior knowledge and inferring can be used during reading so people can learn words.

Summarising and making connections can be used after reading so people can see if they understood the whole story, ask questions and make connections. 

Knowing how to use the comprehension strategies is important so people can use it during reading.
